The new LGBTIQ+ association Druga Rijeka (DRUGARI) was recently introduced to Rijeka and the wider public in the Gallery SKC. The goals and activities of the group were presented by the association’s president Antonio Kiselić, pointing out that the need to form the association came out of the need of the local community for a more active development and engagement in the field of development of the LGBTIQ+ community in the area of Primorsko-goranska County, connecting with national and international LGBTIQ+ organizations, as well as other actors of the civil society and institutions that are fighting towards equality, change of negative tendencies in the field of sexual, gender and other identity groups in the society which we can still call marginalised, and other legal, educational and socio-cultural activities.
DRUGARI gave Kombinat the job to design their visual identity. The result is a visual identity made up of a sign shaped as a circle containing a fragmented star, symbolising the community and members that make it. Playing with red and dark blue gives the whole story certain vitality and vigour, as it should be when it comes to LGBTIQ+. Red has a high rate of visibility and emphasises courage and decisiveness, and (dark) blue gives a sense of self-confidence and stability. And this is precisely what we want for Druga Rijeka: to have programs of great quality, to be visible and decisive in the execution of its plans and activities, and to have courage to face challenges it meets along the way.
