The guiding idea in designing the web site was to emphasize the theatre program while taking into consideration all the proclamatory aspects of the Theatre (news, etc). The aim was to make the site clearer and more functional, as well as more up-to-date. Given the relevance and the specificity of Italian drama, the idea is to have the site in Italian as well as Croatian and English. Colour, minimalism and simplicity are easily adaptable to any visual identity of the Theatre, if it were to change. Aside from the well-known red color of the HNK Ivana pl. Zajc, three basic colours (and their variations) were used: (warm) grey, black and white. The front page opens with a photo from each next play which visually emphasizes the program, or with news which emphasize the theatre’s mission. It is interesting to point out the “Event calendar” which contains all the relevant information on the plays in the  up-coming months, which also allows the visitor to enter the play’s description directly by clicking on it in the calendar.

The description features the dramaturg’s text about the play and the list of actors in the play. By clicking on the particular actor, the visitor enters her or his portfolio. This way all the information about the play are gathered in one place, easily accesible to the audience. It is also worth noticing that premieres feature a letter “P” on their photos. The “Subscription” part of the site is structured in the way which allows for all the theatre subscriptions and their programs to be looked up and compared (they do not open separately), which makes the site additionally easy to use. >>> www.hnk-zajc.hr
