The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka organised the second Copula – Art projects in public space, whose goal was to bring art into the streets of Rijeka. Copula#2 program (8th of April – 30th of May, 2014) featured twenty events/interventions. Kombinat was employed to conceptualize and execute a time and space map of the program containing information about the events and interventions as well as their locations. When put together, the map formed a small house following the visual as well as the colour code identity of Copula. It featured two parts, each on its side of the paper – the map and the program.
The locations on the map were visualized as pins, numerically composed into a network that represented the imagined stroll through all the events in the program of Copula#2.
To make it easier for visitors to find their way around, the map featured humorous illustrations of well known Rijeka localities. Also, we emphasized some more well known Rijeka speech (phrase Šta da?, which would roughly translate into Really?)/location (Mrtvi kanal, bar Tunel)/item (torpedo) symbols. The side that features Copula#2 program was also enriched with short interesting texts (where to have a nice walk in Rijeka, how did Mrtvi kanal [the Dead Channel] get its name, what is the difference between Korzo and Molo long etc.) The map is named Pin a Connection in order to emphasize the material connection to the exploration of Rijeka.
